Role: Lead Designer — Branding, Packaging, Marketing, and Photography

Pochis began as a small flower and sweets shop known for its chocolate covered strawberries and creative gifts. Over time, it evolved into a brand that celebrates Colombian culture through food, community, and design.

The business now operates in three parts: Pochis Sweet Designs, which imports and sells Colombian sweets available in Meijer and other retail stores across Michigan; Pochis Colombian Café & Restaurant, offering authentic Colombian dishes and coffee; and the original floral and gift concept that started it all.

I have led the design direction across all stages, from packaging and marketing to restaurant branding and photography, helping the brand grow while staying true to its Colombian roots. Pochis is currently undergoing a full rebrand and website development, coming soon.

Brand Evolution and Target Audience
Designing a brand that grows while staying true to its roots.

Since the beginning, Pochis has evolved from a small flower and sweets shop into a growing Colombian brand with products in Meijer and a café and restaurant that share the same vision. As the brand has expanded, its design has adapted too, adding new pastel accents and refined visuals while keeping the recognizable pink palette and flower logo that customers already know and love.

Through every stage, design has reflected this growth, balancing evolution with familiarity while continuing to support the brand’s message of empowering women and celebrating Latino culture. Pochis honors its origins as a woman owned business, sharing warmth, creativity, and community through every detail.

Pochis Sweet Designs: Sweets and Flowers
Packaging Design

Pochis Sweet Designs started with handcrafted gifts of flowers, strawberries, and macarons, each packaged as a small work of art. The original chocolate brown boxes with gold floral details expressed warmth and luxury, inspired by the brand’s Colombian roots. As the brand grew, softer pinks and pastel tones were introduced, giving the packaging a fresh, modern feel while keeping its signature pink identity and elegant floral style.

Pochis Sweet Designs: Colombian Sweets for Retail
Packaging Design and Brand Development

As Pochis expanded into importing Colombian sweets, the focus shifted to creating packaging that felt both authentic and refined for retail shelves. Each design balances Pochis’ signature pink identity with a clean, modern layout that highlights product quality and storytelling. The Colombian roots remain present through the use of small illustrated icons inspired by traditional ingredients, patterns, and culture, giving the brand a sense of warmth and authenticity.

Currently in rebranding, the goal is to further unify the packaging system while strengthening shelf presence and brand recognition across Meijer and other retail stores.

Pochis Sweet Designs: Promotional and Event Materials
Brand Experience and Visual Design

To strengthen Pochis’ presence in both community events and retail settings, I created many promotional materials that consistently reflect the brand’s personality. Each piece, from flyers and menus to banners, stickers, and packaging inserts, carries the recognizable pink palette and floral details that define Pochis. The designs balance warmth and professionalism, telling a cohesive visual story that reinforces the brand’s identity and connection with its audience.

Photography and Video Editing for Social Media

As part of Pochis’ continued growth, I developed the visual direction for Pochis Colombian Restaurant, focusing on photography and video content that capture the brand’s warmth and authentic dining experience. Each image and video was designed to highlight textures, colors, and details that make the food stand out while staying consistent with the overall Pochis brand identity.

I have both created and directed content, working independently on product and lifestyle photography while also guiding photographers and video teams to achieve the desired look and message. From food styling to editing, every piece was crafted to enhance engagement, tell the brand’s story, and maintain a cohesive visual presence across all platforms.

Social Media Aesthetic
Visual storytelling that feels warm, real, and inviting

The social media aesthetic for Pochis Colombian Restaurant reflects the brand’s signature palette of soft pinks, browns, and complementary pastel tones. The visuals are designed to feel calm, welcoming, and true to Pochis’ identity, connecting both the restaurant and Pochis Sweet Designs under one consistent look.

Imagery focuses on real clients enjoying their meals, creating a sense of warmth and authenticity that celebrates connection and community. Each photo and video captures natural expressions, product details, and the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant. Whether I am directing a team or producing the visuals myself, every piece is edited to feel polished yet human, reinforcing Pochis as a space that values people, design, and consistency across every platform.

Social Media Design
Evolving the brand through illustration and color

As the Pochis brand evolved, the social media design also grew to reflect its identity more clearly. The visual direction began incorporating soft pastel colors and an illustrative style that adds warmth and personality while maintaining the brand’s refined tone.

This approach balances playfulness and professionalism, representing both the charm of Pochis and the Colombian spirit behind it. The cohesive use of color, typography, and illustration creates a recognizable online presence that connects the sweets, retail, and restaurant branches under one unified visual language.

Extending the brand through space and experience

Beyond digital and packaging design, I’ve also created a variety of branded materials for Pochis Colombian Restaurant, including menus, window illustrations, signage, and in-store visuals. Each piece was designed to feel cohesive with the brand’s identity while elevating the dining experience.

The menus combine clean layouts with subtle color accents inspired by the Pochis palette, keeping the design elegant and easy to read. Window graphics and food visuals bring the space to life, helping connect the restaurant’s environment with the warmth and authenticity of the Pochis brand.
